Junk Food OR Fresh Food ???

Joe, one of Institute of technology Bandung students, had been living in Bandung for a year. He lived with his self only. No relatives accompanied him there. He lived in a boarding house, and he was so busy about his study that he forgot to fulfil his daily needed. He did not use to eat food, contained good vitamins and proteins which needed by a teenager as normally in his age. He used to consume fast food -including junk food. And it continued day by day. When he wanted to enter the second grade in his college, he got a tricky problem. And nobody knew it, moreover he did not know what going is on his body. He got a cancer ! In the other hand, he was a smart student and he helped his friends on study, also gave a free-course for his juniors. What a kind-hearted person, he is ! But, do you think it was so ironic?

In his age, he must get a cancer. Doctor said, it was caused by his bad habit - too much consumed junk food that not have good enough composition for his health. Although junk foods are practical, instant, simple, yummy and can be served so fast, we should not consume it too much, because it can improve some risks.

“What’s wrong with junk food ?”

First, too much fat! Junk foods such as hamburgers, pizza, fried chicken and chips usually contain loads of saturated fats. Too much saturated fat in the diet will cause people to put on weight and get fat or obese (very fat). Being overweight is a risk to the health of the heart and can cause other diseases. Second, too much salt! Junks foods often have too much salt. There's a lot of salt already in foods such as bread, breakfast cereals and biscuits and cakes. So people are getting more salt than they need when they eat junk food. Too much salt is unhealthy for the heart. And the last is too much sugar! Soft drinks, cordials, biscuits, cakes and lollies all have loads of sugar. That's what makes them taste so good! But too much sugar makes people fat, rots the teeth, is bad for the blood and may cause other diseases.
By consuming junk food too much, it can cause an appalling death. Its begun by getting some diseases. There are four diseases that can be caused by consuming junk food too much. First, malnutrition disease. Because junk food is unhealthy and has poor nutritional value. Of course the consumer has less nutrition and it causes this kind of disease. Second, coronary disease. Its kind of disesase that caused by corking of blood. The bad composition of junk food corks our impuls, so that it disrupts blood circulation. The third is cholesterol. Most of junk food is gotten from bad processing. The process is reheating the food again and again, in order to keep the food warm. Automatically, junk food absorbs much oil and disappeared nutritious essence like vitamin B and C. And the last is cancer. Someone who consumes junk food continuously, she/he will get cancer because junk food is contained by a lot of monosodiums. It supports someone to get cancer easier and enables the victim to die.

Someone who has bad habit-consume junk food too much will accoustome to not cook food by his/herself. And she/he will become so lazy. There are two ways to avoid that bad habit. First, the consumer must think about their health. Of course, she/he does not know the compositions of junk food, and how about the chef ? When the chef was cooking that foods, his/her hands in steryl condition or not. Second, the consumer should think that being so lazy is one of bad demeanors, and its not good for his/her personality. Beside that, consuming junk food is spending much money, because it’s expensive. And no everybody can buy it.

There are some tips to someone who loves consuming junk food in order to she/he is still healthy. First, choose fast-food restaurants that offer healthier choices. And no matter where you are, opt for food and beverages that are made up mostly of ingredients that offer nutrients along with calories. Enjoy freshly squeezed orange juice or a whole-wheat bagel instead of soda or donuts. Buy a bean burrito, pizza topped with vegetables, or a grilled chicken sandwich on a whole-grain bun instead of tortilla chips with processed cheese sauce; frozen pizza rolls; or fried chicken pieces and French fries. Avoid sweetened beverages. Second, look for products low in sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, milled grains, and partially hydrogenated oils. Choose a 100% whole-wheat cracker made with canola oil, for example, or snack on a cheese and fruit plate instead of a bowl of cheese puffs.

Junk food also have advantages. First, its practical. We can bring it wherever wa want. Second, its yummy, from the taste directly we want to consume it. Third, it can be served so fast. We don’t need to cook food which needs many compositions and spend our time. Fourth, its simple and instant.

In brief, by consuming junk food too much can damage our selves, and let’s try to leave out eating them from now.
